Tender bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs seasoned with savory spices and cooked to crispy perfection in an air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale

4 Bone in, skin on chicken thighs, trimed of excess fat and skin

½ teaspoon Kosher salt

1 teaspoon Smoked paprika

1 teaspoon Garlic powder

½ teaspoon Oregano

½ teaspoon Onion powder

Instructions

1.Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 5 minutes.

2.Place trimmed chicken thighs into a zip-top bag or bowl with a lid.

3.Add kosher salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, oregano, and onion powder, then shake or toss to coat.

4.Place chicken thighs in the air fryer basket skin side down and air fry at 380°F for 12 minutes.

5.Turn chicken thighs skin side up and cook for an additional 10 to 15 minutes.

6.Cook in 4-minute increments if extra crispiness is desired.

7.Verify internal temperature reaches 165°F using a meat thermometer (thighs reach peak tenderness around 185°F-195°F).

8.Let rest before serving.

Notes

Trim excess fat before seasoning to prevent smoking.

Start skin side down to render fat and achieve maximum crispiness.

Internal temperature can safely go above 165°F for optimal tenderness in dark meat.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
